I wanted to share my experience building my own chicken coop.
My name is Scotty Pickens and I had heard the stories about people paying $800 - $1800 for a chicken coop or trying to build their own only to have it look like junk. Here's what would happen.
- They would order a pre-made chicken coop and end up having to assemble it themselves. Essentially, they were just paying a very inflated price for the materials.
They would TRY to build a coop on their own only to end up with something that was not very functional or appealing to look at.
A friend of mine, Roger, was telling me about a website online set up by an experienced poultry farmer that showed you exactly how to build your own chicken coop for just a fraction of the price of buying one new. So, I decided to give it a try and here is what happened:
- I saved over 70% of the cost of buying a new chicken coop!
Raising chickens and having my own eggs has been saving me a ton on my food bill.
Building my chicken coop with my own two hands has been a very rewarding experience.
